What is the Speedo League

As usual, HSC will be entering a team in the Speedo League. The Speedo League is a national league with teams from all over the country able to enter. We compete in Division Two of the London Region of the Speedo League.

We will swim in three galas against the other teams in Division Two. Each gala consists of the same events (e.g. 50m free, 100m back, etc etc) and the gala is swum as an age group event – that is, swimmers compete against each other based on their age.

Points are awarded to swimmers depending on their position – e.g. first place will be awarded 8 points, 2^nd place 7 points, and so on. The points scored across all three galas are used (via a very complicated scoring process) to work out who has won.
